Har Ki Dun Trek
Description :-
A cradle shaped hanging valley Har ki dun trek is surrounded with high peaks covered with snow and alpine forests from across. The valley is located in the Garhwal Himalayas, is at an altitude of approx 3500m above the sea level. Connected to Borasu Pass and Baspa Valley, the area covered with snow in the time of October to march.
The trek starts from Taluka village, which is some 25 km from the har ki dhun valley and proceed through Osala and seema. Har ki dun valley is often used as trekking point for beginners, this moderate treks introduces you with least touched regions of Garhwal Himalayas.
The valley is a paradise for nature lovers; it is also a hub to different kinds of birds thus making the wildlife of the region a heavy one. Har ki dun trek field is surrounded with glaciers, sprawling meadows, terraced fields, fragrant orchids. The civilization here at this region is grounded and adore the old tradition culture and living with the same values.
Nearby tourist attractions on the way to har ki dun are Ruinsara Tal, it is a high elevation lake is a prime tourist attraction. Other locations are Morinda Tal and Jamdhar Glacier. The majestic Morinda Tal is 3 km from har ki dun and Jamdhar Glacier is easily visible by 4 km from har ki dun trek near to Swargarohini Peak. For main Jamdhar glacier, you need to trek for at least 10 kms. While returning from the respective trek, you can visit to the Temple of Duryodhana, dedicated to the elder son of Kaurav from the epic Mahabharata.
Itinerary:-
Day 01: Delhi – Dehradun (294 Mt.) (270 Kms / 07 hrs drive)
Early morning arrival to Delhi, our representative will greet you there and take you off straight drive to the City Dehradun. Check in to the hotel. Get set free to explore the vibrant local market of the city during afternoon. Overnight stay at hotel.
Day 02: Dehradun – Taluka (1900 m / 6232 ft) (215 kms/ 7-8 hrs)
Osla Drive to Taluka, post breakfast. Taluka is a small gem nestled in the laps of nature enroute o Kempty falls, Mori, Purola and Mussoorie. Starting points of trek, Night stay in tourist rest house/tents.
Day 03: Taluka – Osla (2560 m / 8400 ft) (13 kms / 6-7 hrs)
The day begins with the gentle trail to Osla. The trek continues through striking forests of Walnut, Willows and Chestnuts. Along the swift rivulet, the picturesque Osla village is a place to remember. Upon arrival, set thrilled for overnight stay.
Day 04: Osla – Har Ki Dun (3566 m / 11700 ft) (12 kms / 6-7 hrs)
Trek starts to Har Ki Dun, after having breakfast. Har Ki Dun is a place where locals value their traditions and has high regards towards their culture. The lifestyle is untouched and unfolds. Field of rice & beans are the key attraction falls in the route of trek. A common scene in the village during evening is village women returning home carrying cones and pine needles on their back for cooking purposes. The village is laced with sheer amount of innocence which is quite appealing. Trek here is full of fun with steadily steps, crossing rivers and refreshing environment. Dinner and overnight stay at hotel.
Day 05: Har Ki Dun.
The day is designed for acclimatization and exploration. The day is set free for you to do the things of your choice. One can capture the magnificent views of flowery valley. Or just laid back and relax at the camp site. Night halt in tents.
Day 06: Har Ki Dun – Oslahar.
Start your morning with breakfast, than trek back to Osla with lunch packed for yourself. Overnight stay and dinner in tent.
Day 07: Osla – Taluka (13 kms / 3-4 hrs) – Dehradun (215 Kms / 7-8 hrs) – Delhi.
After breakfast, a trek to Taluka starts which is of 3 to 4 hours. From here drive back to Dehradun, than move towards Delhi.
